Who We Are

This site is owned and maintained by the family of Bernard J. (Barney) and Mary E. Gearty of Minneapolis (Robinsdale) Minnesota. Bernard was a third generation Irish/American descendant of immigrant John Gearty.

Purpose

The Gearty website has two primary objectives

• To maintain communications with our far flung family and friends. We will publish current and recent information about family members sharing news, activities and events.

• To capture, maintain and share the family history of Irish immigrants John and Catherine Gearty and their descendants. They settled in Golden Valley, Minnesota (Minneapolis area) in 1852. They had 11 children, nine of whom married and had children of their own. We invite any descendants of John Gearty to update or add to the history or build linked web pages focusing on their lineage and families.
